SARASOTA, FL (April 17, 2007)—Sarasota/Manatee BUSINESS, a sister publication to Sarasota Magazine, is changing its name to Biz941 beginning with the May issue.
The new name Biz941 was chosen to replace Sarasota/Manatee BUSINESS for its brevity, clarity, strength and modernity. Biz941 reflects the magazine’s subject matter—business in the area code of 941—and content will stay the same. Biz941 will continue to cover the significant growth of the market, provide business and community leaders with the tools to successfully navigate these changes, and air the issues that matter most to the local business community.
Susan Burns, the editor of Biz941, says the editorial staff remains committed to producing topical articles that both explore the long-range issues and provide the local business news and day-to-day helpful tips that make running a business just a little bit easier. “We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished in three years and look forward to improving our editorial content with every issue,” she says. “Changing our name to a shorter, stronger title is part of that.”

Along with the new name launch, Biz941 will launch Biz941.com, a Web site that will equip business leaders in the Sarasota/Manatee market with a home page that will include, a customizable stock ticker, news feeds from both The Wall Street Journal and The Herald Tribune, local weather, a profile of the “Business Person of the Week,” a blog written by Kim Hackett, a searchable archive and many other features.
